Inordinate disparity between human goals and human accomplishments constitutes a state of conflict. Most conflicts involve the interpersonal pursuit of inimical goals, but another important class of conflicts involves the relationship between human goals and the supporting physical environment. We tried to harmonize these conflicts in the following paper.
