THE RESEARCH ON THE CAVITY RESISTANCE OF THE X20CR13 STEEL PUBLISHED

Lavinia Madalina MICU None
Taking into account that in the construction of steam boilers or pumps the stainless steel X20Cr13 is used due to the acquisition cost, which is low enough the aim of this research was to identify the resistance to cavitation by erosion of this material.Tests for determining the quality of anticorrosive steel X20Cr13 were performed on annealed and improved samples and the results were compared with the standard OH12NDL steel, used in making steel Kaplan turbine blades within the Iron Gates hydro power plant from Romania. Losses reported in accumulated mass, show that the resistance to cavitation of the X20Cr13 improved steel increased by about 86% compared to the standard steel and 26% respectively compared to the nonheat-treated samples of the X20Cr13 steel.
